What is a Podcast?: A podcast is an audio program that you can access and download via the Internet.

Although anyone with a computer can download and hear a podcast, most people prefer to listen on the go. You can hear the South Downs Podcasts on anything that plays an MP3 audio file. The most common device used to play podcasts is the iPod, but they can be played on any MP3 player and on many CD players, PDAs and mobile phones.
How can I download Podcasts to my computer?: If you want to keep a copy of a podcast, you can download it to your computer, then listen to it or burn it on a CD. To download, place your mouse on the 'MP3 Listen' button, and right-click 'Save target as' (PC) or control-click select 'Download linked file' (Mac), and save the file to your computer.
How do I subscribe?: 1. Download and install podcasting software

First you have to download software that will search the Web and find the latest version of the files you want. There are many different podcasting applications, two of the most popular being iPodder or iTunes. The Podcastingnews Web site has an extensive range of podcasting applications. Most software operates on Macs, PCs or Linux and is free to download.

2. Add the Internet address (URL) of the South Downs Podcast to your software

Once you have your software up and running, subscribe to the South Downs Podcast by simply copying the URL of the podcast feed, for example: http://audemos.jellycast.com/pod/audemos/rangersview/sdrvaudemospodcast.xml and pasting it into your podcast application.
